Combustion Modelling Engineer

* What is the opportunity?

To further sustain and accelerate its growth, NUMECA is looking for a CFD Engineer with experience in combustion modelling to join its staff in Brussels.


* What will you do?

You will be part of the Combustion Modelling Team and participate in the development of NUMECA’s advanced CFD solvers devoted to multiphysics-multipurpose applications, in particular to reactive flow modeling.

In tight collaboration with other CFD developers, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Development of innovative physical models and computational methods for multiphysics, combustion and reactive flow applications

  • Participate in R&D projects

  • Support teams in application of new functionalities.


* Who are we looking for?

Required skills:

  • A Master degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent is a prerequisite

  • A PhD or +3 years of experience in CFD code development would be preferable.

  • Applicants should have a strong background in fluid mechanics, CFD software development and multi-physics modelling with a specific expertise in combustion modeling

  • Hands-on experience in CFD code development

  • Strong background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and numerical methods

  • Good experience in engineering programming language (C, C++, and/or FORTRAN).

  • Experience with Large-Eddy-Simulation would be a plus

  • Fluency in English

Applicants should be highly motivated, dynamic, have good analytical and communication skills, be a team player while taking ownership of the tasks assigned and be able to meet the highest quality standards in software development. Proven skills in engineering problem solving and written/oral communication are essential.
